Meet Flow - a Pomodoro Timer I use Daily

In case you're unfamiliar, the Pomodoro Technique is a productivity method that breaks work into focused sessions with short breaks in between. The classic setup is 25 minutes of work followed by a 5-minute break, and after every 4 sessions, you get a longer 30-minute (or more) break. It's designed to keep you in flow state while ensuring you're taking proper breaks—basically, you can crush 2 hours of work while staying fresh.

Sure, the app store is flooded with Pomodoro timers. Some are overloaded with unnecessary features, while others are just bare-bones countdown clocks. That's where Flow comes in.

Flow is available on all Apple devices, but I'm going to focus on the Mac app since it's where the app really shines with some genuinely useful features.

Here's what's really cool: it can live in your menu bar as either a countdown timer or a simple circular progress indicator (perfect if watching numbers tick down stresses you out). A two-finger click lets you pause and resume the timer instantly—super convenient. A regular click just toggles the floating window on and off.

My favorite part? The full-screen break mode. It's beautifully simple with a calming green background. If you can't actually touch grass, at least you can stare at a green screen for 5 minutes while you play a couple rounds of Brawl Stars or scroll through X.

Everything I've mentioned so far is completely free. If you want to sync data across devices or customize your work and break durations, they offer pretty generous monthly, yearly, and lifetime plans.
